Brass Castle is an independent Malton-based Yorkshire brewery and Britain’s best brewer of vegan and gluten-free craft beers. We mash grains, boil hop charges, pitch yeast, rack into casks, seam cans, serve great beer and do an awful lot of cleaning – right in the centre of Yorkshire’s Food Capital. Brass Castle Brewery’s house yeast does its work in five fermenters and the staff clean up after it. The overall result is an ever-changing range of beers and beer styles that garner awards in all quarters, while finding their way around the UK and beyond.
Brass Castle Brewery
It’s important to us to brew it right – so we don’t cheat with isinglass, lactose or other unnecessary animal-derived additions. All Brass Castle Brewery beers are vegan and vegetarian friendly. All beers are brewed to gluten-free recipes, but only Brass Castle canned beers and Hoptical Illusion in cask/keg are laboratory tested and certified gluten-free. Spent grain from the brewing process goes to be digested into wiggly amps, biogas and fertiliser. Spent hops find their way onto local allotments. As a centrally-based Malton brewery, we make beer in the heart of a community and we work hard to brew sustainably.
The brewery Taphouse is open next door at 10 Yorkersgate. Serving at least 8 beers, Brass Castle brewed kombucha, cider, Roost barista coffee, tea, wine, prosecco, gin and soft drinks. Plus a cracking selection of Belgian beers and Brass Castle cans to take away. Malton is Yorkshire’s Food Capital, so grab your eats locally and feel free to bring them in with you. Look out for our quiz nights, vinyl sessions and ‘Storm the Castle’ tap takeovers.
Malton-based micro, making good honest beer. All veg*n and a few gluten free. On the scale above ordinary and before hyperbole.
